Forklifts fueled by propane are common in warehouse environments. These forklifts have a propane mount situated at the rear of the operator. These tanks have to be replaced from time to time because they have limited lifespans. Forklift operators should always utilize care when handling propane tanks. Compressed gases are hazardous, especially since the gas is flammable. Use care when replacing and removing propane tank to prevent being injured.
1 To change a propane tank, first stop the forklift and leave the engine running, and turn the valve on the tank off. Let the forklift run until the engine dies. This process burns off the gas in the transfer hose which connects the tank and the engine. Prior to taking the second steps, put on the proper safety equipment, such as insulated gloves made of either neoprene or leather. It is important for you to protect your skin from touching the compressed gas, that is very cold.
2 Disconnect the hose from the tank and take the holding straps off to remove the tank. When you put in a new tank, tighten the nut to reconnect the holding straps and to reconnect the hose at the valve of the tank.
3 Leaks can be inspected simply by applying soapy water to the valve and opening it slightly. If there is a leak, it will cause bubbles to froth from around the valve. If this happens, inspect the connection hose at the nut and the valve area. The connecting nut must be re-tightened if you detect any leaks in the area of the valve, and after that perform the leak checking process once more. Persistent leaks mean that the nut and connecting hose should be replaced. However, if replacing the hose and nut still does not stop the leak, the tank should be replaced.
4 Finally, open the valve all the way to allow the gas to fill the connecting hose. Then you could start the forklift and resume working.
Since the year 2011, the Linden Comansa company has offered its customers the LC 1600 series tower cranes. This series consists of the models: 16 LC 220, 16 LC 185 and 16 LC 260. These units are available in various types of maximum load. The design of the LC 1600 series allows Comansa to keep their fundamental premises, like modularity and easiness of assembly and transport.
This particular series has a load capacity of 8 to 12 tons. The LC1100 cranes provide a 5 to 8 ton load capacity, whilst the bigger LC2100 model supports loads from twelve to forty eight tons. Additionally, the LC1600 family brings together the advantages of both series that shares various elements.
